FABL 2026 Pitchers - Libra Season
It’s the last day of the MLB season, and I have absolutely no idea what’s going on… at least as far as the real life players on the field. When it comes to the Fantasy Astrology Baseball League, on the other hand, I can tell you that Aries and Cancer have the two best offenses around. Turning our attention to pitching, we see that the top spot is once again occupied by Aries, leaving little doubt about who the will win the league overall.
As Pete Crow-Armstrong is to MLB batters in 2026, Jacob Misiorowski has been the pitcutre of pitching excellence. No one else comes close to his astronomical point total, he’s leading the National League in ERA and strikeouts, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he leads the Milwaukee Brewers to a deep postseason run. Following The Miz in the Rams rotation is another lanky ace Chris Sale. The grizzled veteran is just one inch shorter (at 6’6”), and he likewise pitches for a division leader in the National League.
After Sale, we have another veteran lefty in Eduardo Rodriguez, yet another mid-thirties Aries who found a new gear playing in the Arizona desert, as they battle for a Wild Card spot. Rounding out the “playoff rotation” is Taj Bradley, who has emerged as Minnesota’s top pitcher this season. In a battle for the fifth starter spot would be Grant Holmes and Peter Lambert, who were separated by just ONE (1) fantasy point, as of Libra Season.
The Texas Rangers surprisingly started using little known reliever Jacob Latz in the closer’s role this year, and he has helped pitch the team into a first place tie with the Houston Astros as the season draws to a close. In a twist of fate, the ‘Stros also employ a lefty Aries closer in Josh Hader, although the established stopper has a much longer track record. Only injuries prevented Aries from having three top-shelf ninth inning options, as Edwin Diaz only managed 17 innings in the first season of his megadeal with the Dodgers.
In circumstances that couldn’t possibly be coincidental, the top THREE astrology pitching staffs are all Fire signs – Aries is followed directly by Leo and Sagittarius. The top pitching sign in the Negative Polarity is Capricorn, who actually can boast three legitimate closers in their bullpen. Jhoan Duran leads a Phillies bullpen that is battling with the D-Backs for the final Wild Card position in the NL. Raisel Iglesias remained at the top of the Braves bullpen pecking order, even despite the offseason acquisition of the arguably more talented Robert Suarez – maybe they just didn’t want a Pisces closer. And Andres Munoz closes games for the Mariners, who couldn’t sneak into the postseason.
But the top pitcher on Capricorn is the usually durable Dylan Cease. The starting pitcher for the 2026 American League All-Stars, Cease has made 30 starts in each of the past five years, split between the White Sox and the Padres, and only an ill-timed injury will keep him one start from that plateau in his first season with the Blue Jays. Injuries affected Capricorn’s other two potential aces as well: Chase Burns had a fabulous season for the Reds, but will also end the year on the IL. Meanwhile, Max Fried is currently healthy and will pitch for the Yankees in the playoffs, but managed only 112 innings on the season.
Kevin Gausman has had ace-like seasons in the past, but his mediocre 2026 saw him get traded from the Blue Jays to the Cubs at the deadline. Davis Martin on the surprisingly-playoff-bound White Sox would round out the starting five. Two rookie Central Division lefties – Shane Drohan on the Brewers and Connor Prielipp on the Twins – are around as starting depth.
It's going to take a while to put together a full database when the season ends, especially with my focus drawn by the actual playoffs. But expect a full analysis later in the Fall!
